My aim is to be a well acclaimed medical practitioner. In addition to building my career as a doctor, I also plan to dedicate myself to active medical research. I believe that nature has many hidden solutions to various kinds of diseases that are classified as non-treatable. I believe that we need a new research paradigm that focuses on researching solutions from nature for many of the medical concerns that affect humankind. I would like to combine the knowledge that science has attained so far with my own research efforts to achieve something that is very useful to mankind. I am sure that with the right attitude and effort many tangible medical solutions can be elicited from our natural resources. I am particularly interested in the potential that plants from the sea and unexplored forests could offer in managing the health of the modern man [Fenical, 2004]

I believe that as a biochemist all my aims in life will be fulfilled. To become a doctor I have to pursue biochemistry. However, I plan to pursue the biochemistry course not because it is mandatory for the course, but because I am genuinely interested in the subject. A thorough knowledge in biochemistry will help me to prescribe medicines and also analyze the role of certain medicines in certain special medical cases. Biochemical sciences will offer me the skills to pursue research in the medical field while it will also help me to become a better medical practitioner.
