Every year countless people, young and old are
afflicted with the killer disease of cancer. It
strikes anybody from rich to poor, man or women,
it knows no bounds. Everyone agrees that it is
a terrible disease, each hoping that they will
not be the next victim. The history of cancer
is rather complex, but we can safely describe
it as the malfunctioning of cells. These fears
can be alleviated though not guaranteed, that
we take care of our health and take preventive
steps to increase our potential to lead a cancer
free life and this can depends greatly on our
intake of food or rather our diet. In order to
keep our cells functioning, we need to nourish
our bodies with certain vitamins, nutrients, and
minerals so that our health is maintained.
It is often debated that while consuming fats,
one should be very aware of what fats are being
consumed because without the consumption of fats
our bodies will not function. There are certain
good fats which should be consumed which include
fish, walnuts, pumpkin seeds, macadamias and olive
oils, which are just some of the sources of good
fat intake. Others advice the intake of raw almonds
daily as they contain anti-cancer wrapped up in
a substance called laetrile.
Foods Causing Cancer
It isn’t the most surprising news that all
cooking at high heat produces chemicals that cause
cancer. Take for instance the grilling, broiling
or frying meat, poultry , or fish creates heterocyclic
amines. However the question is that since people
have been consuming these foods for several millennia
than what really causes it?. The answer is that
although most of these foods all naturally contain
potential cancer causes, they have the ability
to act as cancer fighters as well.
One of the potential cancer-causing chemicals
called ‘Acrylamide’, has been under
scrutiny for a long time. It is a white odorless
powder which has been found in many foods. It
appears that the chemical is actually used in
plastics and dyes, and is also a byproduct of
cooking food at high temperatures. Researchers
have found this substance in significant amounts
of a wide range of foods as a result of baking
or frying and it is likely that when consumed
it could cause cancer and neurotoxic effects to
the nervous system of humans.
Foods Preventing Cancer
Broccoli
Broccoli is one of the most powerful resistor
of cancer, one does not have to know the benefits
of it but should just consume it. In fact, broccoli
has such powerful anti-cancer compounds in it
that it would sell for almost a hundred dollars
a week if put in a pill. Broccoli protects a person
against prostate cancer, breast cancer, multiple
myeloma, lung cancer, colon cancer and liver cancer.
Broccoli possess in it not one chemical but a
wide range of phytochemicals which prevent cancer.
Cocoa
Another important anti-cancer substance is cocoa
which possesses in itself powerful phytochemicals
which can prevent and even reverse cancer. It
is necessary to keep in mind that it also not
very good to consume too much of cocoa because
it might not be good for their health.
Mint Leaf
A certain phytochemical in mint leaves has been
found to demonstrate powerful antiangiogenesis
effects, which means that it truncates the blood
supply to cancer tumors. These leaves are simply
an astonishing producer of healing nutrients.
Apart from mint leaves other herbs, weeds, vegetables
and fruits also offer resistance to cancer.
Diet Recommendations
In order to reverse or prevent cancer it is necessary
that a person needs to limit the uptake of chemicals
that cause it. Instead of eating these harmful
chemicals one should consume raw and easy to digest
foods. The main problems is that one cannot resist
these addictive chemical foods so it takes some
time before the person realized what is the right
food to eat and how he should overcome his addiction.
Let us suppose for instance that if a person craves
for some salty or animal food, than it is necessary
that the person should take that food which contains
the least amount of protein. Another example is
that the person consumes at least one slice of
bread or cookies and as many fruits as possible
in order to stay healthy and safe. To fight the
cravings for oily and harmful foods, one needs
to consume sufficient sugars, clean fat and clean
cholesterol, along with minimizing the uptake
of addictive chemicals: opioid peptides and beta-carbolines.
Consumption of wheat and dairy products should
be avoided as much as possible and should be substituted
with vegetables.
The diet of vegetables is arguably the best diet
against cancer. They contain in them a wide range
of phytochemicals which help curb the danger of
cancer to a great extent. One of the phytochemicals
called lycopene shields the human body for various
disorders and cancer. These chemicals occur normally
in the Solanaceous vegetables such as tomatoes
and peppers which get deposited in a number of
body tissues. By the consumption of different
types of vegetables the person is at minimum risk
and has a very powerful resistance against the
danger of cancer and other diseases.
